How amazing are these old show posters? I love love love the lion one-look at it very closely-lots of cool details and the one with the hands as bodies-so rad. I also wish I could have attended a few of these shows--Otis Redding!! Eric Burden and the ANIMALS!!?! 13 Floor Elevator? BUT I hate Santana so I'd prob have to leave as soon as he started-I do NOT like Santana. Sometimes I have a hard time reading that funky writing. All photos from here

i don't like santana either but most of their record art/show posters are very visually appealing. what a trick!

if you like bill graham you should check out rick griffin. very similar style.

Ha! Young lady- you were born just about 25 years too late... I was lucky enough to have been at some of those venues....if I would've known you back then, well, the rest would be just history!

The artist who did #s 2, 3, 5 and 6 in your array is my cousin Lee Conklin. Grandma's sister's kid. We met many years ago. He had a creepy crush on my mom when they were kids (he told me so in an email last year) He's still doing this kind of stuff, but without the acid to fuel his vision.
