Perhaps...

While I was perusing this awesome site I saw this Here on Ebay and remembered my old post here about my vintage t-shirt collection-I have that shirt but mine might not be authentic bcuz I see the one on Ebay doesn't have the MCA 1976 date on it?? Drats, would be nice if it was tho! I got it thrifting one day.. on a good day!

"The Art of Vintage Leather Jackets"

Check here for their ebay site and here for his awesome informative blog. I had to put the 1st jacket bcuz it's rad and the Snoopy bcuz it reminds me of my Dad. My Dad is this tuff guy from Northern Minnesota but he has a Snoopy tattoo and a Rat Fink tattoo-he LOVES Snoopy. HAHA

I think 1967-1972 were prob the coolest years for lots of things.. ESP CLOTHES!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall....

HE HE.. this made me laugh. Imagine what the babies would look like.

"If I'm getting drunk you are ALL getting drunk with me"

Last night Brittany and I headed out for dinner at this new place called St Francis. It was pretty delicious and neat inside. Then we headed down to my favorite dive bar The Royale. The sign above is on the girls bathroom door and says a lot about some of the patrons.Miss Lil has been bartending there for 31 YEARS!!! She holds that place down. The bar used to be called The Round Up and it's been around for 60 years. An awesome older guy came in and bought the whole bar (about 8 people?) a round of drinks. If you are ever in AZ you must go. It was nice to actually get out of the house. I come home and don't know what to do with myself half the time. I need new hobbies and I actually need to stop talking about new hobbies and DO it!

I love you Eric Burdon. I love you...

Long May You Run...

We've been through
some things together
With trunks of memories
still to come
We found things to do
in stormy weather
Long may you run.

Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome
heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.

Well, it was
back in Blind River in 1962
When I last saw you alive
But we missed that shift
on the long decline
Long may you run.

Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome
heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.

Maybe The Beach Boys
have got you now
With those waves
singing "Caroline No"
Rollin' down
that empty ocean road
Gettin' to the
surf on time.

Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome
heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.
Lyrics: Long may you run, Neil Young

Love this song.. I have it on LP so I think I'll go home and listen to the record tonight while dreaming of the Panhead that I'm going to win at the Born Free Show in June. I bought my raffle ticket and I'm positive it's a winner. Don't be jealous when it happens guys..I'll give you a ride. I think the song above is really about a motorcycle

"Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome
heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run."

"Chrome heart shining in the sun" Tho it's not..It says the song is about a girl and a car. Some say it's only about his car--a 1948 Buick Roadmaster Hearse How awesome would that car be for a roadtrip? Well, besides gas prices.

If anybody is coming thru AZ on their way to the show and needs a place to stay -you can crash at my desert rose and listen to records and drink Jack Daniels.

Nancy Cunard

Stylish lady for sure, she had it down.. She was a muse, heiress, writer and political activist. Neruda's eulogy said "Her body had wasted away in a long battle against injustice in the world. Her reward was a life that had become progressively lonelier, and a god-forsaken death."-NY Times

She grew up super wealthy but rejected her posh upbringing and fought for civil rights therefore losing her family and fortune. She died dirt poor weighing only 60lbs in 1965. Wikipedia has good info on her here and the New York Times did an interesting piece on her here

$50k!?

Happened upon this on pure accident while trying to find out more info on some vintage platform shoes i'm going to list on ebay. You can have THE bike from the David Mann tapestry I posted about a few days ago just click here.... What I'm wondering is WTH did they put it on ETSY for? WEIRD!

You Dildo!

At first I thought it was a dildo, you know-the double your pleasure kind.. but it's not..

"A detailed likeness of the index and second fingers of the right hand was one of the many amulets placed on the mummy. This amulet was meant to close the incision through which the embalmers removed internal organs from the body prior to mummification. Remains of the resin used during embalming are still visible between these fingers. In addition to offering protection, an amulet of this shape was meant to help the deceased function better in the afterlife."--- from the Brooklyn Museum. Shit, I wish AZ had better museums. That's another big thing I miss about Chicago-all the great museums...

Neato.

Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (Byrds/Moby Grape) Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (Steppenwolf/Staple Singers/Santana)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (The Chambers Brothers/Charlatans)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (Otis Rush/Grateful Dead/Canned Heat)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (Chuck Berry/Steve Miller Band...)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (Vanilla Fudge/Steve Miller Band)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (James Gang/Black Sabbath)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (John Mayall with Duster Bennett...)Brooklyn Museum: [Untitled] (13th Floor Elevator)

How amazing are these old show posters? I love love love the lion one-look at it very closely-lots of cool details and the one with the hands as bodies-so rad. I also wish I could have attended a few of these shows--Otis Redding!! Eric Burden and the ANIMALS!!?! 13 Floor Elevator? BUT I hate Santana so I'd prob have to leave as soon as he started-I do NOT like Santana. Sometimes I have a hard time reading that funky writing. All photos from here
