Adara Virgin Coconut Oil

I'm in love with the smell of all of these coconut oil's by Adara. You can find them online or in Anthropologie stores. The price is a bit steep but you'll be smelling delicious all day long. You can use them for the face, body or hair. As for me, I wouldn't want to use them on my face. You can find more info about the product and purchasing here here My favorite scent is the Rose/Coconut

Pretty, Pretty.

Earrings galore!!

I purchased these earrings (above)

Pretty necklaces

You can find all of these here for pretty cheap

Daily Heart On

In case of emergency break glass!! Found here

Interview Status

Ok, down with step one. Now if they decide i'm good enough for them I go on for a 2 HOUR interview about my background, then a polygraph, then medical examination. HOLY CRAP!!! BUT if I do get it I could eventually transfer to a different department to become a Crime Scene Photographer... how rad would that be? My fingers are crossed.

Nervous

Big job interview tomorrow with the City .. getting nervous! I hate interviews!!! I bought nice pants from Jcrew- regularly $265 for $29- and a nice v-neck grey wool sweater to wear with it. I'm so mad they didn't have the matching suit jacket in size 0- grrr.. size 2 was too big WTF! I am still thinking of buying the size 2 and having it fitted for future engagements. I have to do a polygraph test, supply tons of information and I had to take a typing test. They required 35 words per minute or higher and I scored a 58!!!

Desiderata

Desiderata - Max Ehrmann 1927
more info about him here

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

4th of July Weekend in Venice, CA!

I spent the last 4 days in Venice, CA with my best friend and her two lil ones. Having kids is A LOT OF WORK!!!!! Her kiddies are super cute-prob the prettiest babies you will ever see. I think she gets stopped every 5 min's with people telling her how beautiful they are. We got to see the new house, which is AMAZING! The walk in closet is half the size of my bedroom now and the shower in the master bedroom is HUGE! Heres a pic of the tub in that same bathroom..

cute lil Umani! She like to copy every move you make-adorable!
Here's a view of my guest house.. i mean the guest house and garage
looking at the back of the house
The house has such amazing woodwork.

The cute front yard/porch
Jaz mastered the Scorpion!
Umani had her head against the mirror and was chatting
On our way home we passsed by this AWESOME house that was covered with a mosaic. The WHOLE house, everything down to the front gate was done. SO RAD!

it was hard to get a good shot.
this one should help tho.. it was ALL like the pic below
Another random house that was neat. Venice is full of so many unique houses.

The cute wood fence in front of Jazmines current house..lil hearts!

I got to go to the beach one day with Jazmine, the babies, two other babies and their parents. Jaz has more pics of the kids on her camera that I am waiting for. Jazmine kept making me laugh so I have a dumb look on my face. Body by Jack and Coke.

Venice Beach was PACKED on the 4th.

Jazmine and I took the kids to the yoga studio they own for a Kirtan/Chanting class. This particular session was put on by Govindas & Radha and was actually quite fun. The kids had a blast and it was great people watching. The music/chanting was really good. If you live in the Santa Monica/LA area you should check one out at their studio http://www.poweryoga.com/.

This is what an exhausted baby does when she gets home from dancing too hard.. she walked straight to her room and laid down on the pillows and passed out. awwwwww.. The kids are cute and very smart. Jazmine is doing a good job and I give her a pat on the back for being a full time mommy. Shes teaching her first kids yoga class tomorrow also!!

Daily Heart On

I can't decide if I love these blue wedges from Anthropologie or despise them. $218 is tuff.
I have a similiar farmer style checked top that is vintage at home but this one from Anthro is adorable because of the cute ties around the neck! This shirt would go great with my super high waisted black dress pants. Man, I haven't worn them in ages tho.
My new EBAY score- 1940's womens black oxfords. yippeeeee! I may put the taps on these.

Love the jewels/style.

North Beach Leather Dress

Item number: 180260382370 on Ebay right now! I found this vintage North Beach by Micheal Hogan dress this weekend and I listed it on Ebay. It's a size 3/4 and has crazy Metallic Gold Trim. I will also be listing a ton of 80s boots tonight.

Dumpster Diving

HA HA we saw this right after we left the Roosevelt last night... we cracked up so hard, good times.

This hooka shop around the corner from my house sells blankets and they sure know how to display them -Mary would DEF approve of the pot leaf
I finally finished this. I picked the bottom part up (below) at an estate sale a year ago and I had no clue what to do with it. Problem Solved. Ok off to Los Angeles for another weekend with my best friend and her babies. I hear they will have no fireworks in the Phoenix area???
