Rachel.

My good friend Rachel was in town from Chicago. It was fun to hangout, she's so talented and one of those people that's good at everything they do. I am now a proud owner of one of her one of a kind hand drawn T-shirts as well. She has lots of diff ones that are pretty bad ass. If you ever need anything done, you can find her and see more of her work at www.rayborchers.com

"No Matter Who I Hangout With"

This is my weekend in a nutshell. Below is the patio-this week the landlord will be pouring the slab so I'll have a patio of some sort again. I'm surprised I haven't fallen in that hole by my front door yet. The dogs have a few times.

Went thrifting Saturday. Found a few cool things. The Deseret had tons of these old funny alarms for 50 cents. I bought 4 and opened one-mine worked for like 2 sprays and now it just blows out ozone killing fumes. Kinda bummed -I was hoping to use it when I'd get an obscene phone call.

Size 10d mens ankle boots for (most likely) Ebay. Two old books dating from 1918 that I'll try to read. I'm a slow reader and I space out so it takes me a looooong time to read a book.

I believe these are Blakely glasses-they could just be styled like them? Eh, who cares they were only $1.50 each. My Roomie and I went to Joe's bbq in Gilbert Saturday. Do you believe I ate that WHOLE sandwich and both sides? God, how could you NOT.. it's so damn good. See what you missed out on McGoo? The drive is worth it!

In the parking lot of Last Chance and looking out our front window.

My curry plant is surviving and my bell pepper seeds have sprouted. Couldn't resist this pretty Lavender plant from Target. It had the biggest flowers of any Lavender plant I had ever seen. It also attracts hummingbirds. I had one fly right by me and flutter by my head for a few min's and I was able to put my hand right up near it.

The cat left a gift for us outside our bathroom window... sorry bird.

Chi Chi torture. Finally, we finished it off Sunday with a stop at Delux Burger-so delicious.

Bits of Weekend

Look closely at that sign above. Moto tank from the GO-KAT-GO Grand Re-Opening party Friday night. We also hit up a craft fair at Frances Vintage (they don't even sell any vintage?) Saw a piece of my past but I just let him pass-nice hat jackass. Hope your new fatty is pulling all the right strings. Saturday I woke up with a Migraine, puked and went back to bed. FUN!

Don't ask what I am doing in the photo above. It looks like i'm in some weird holy roller move summoning the Gods above to bring me a new beer. We weren't even drunk and we got in trouble at the bar for being too loud. The Roosevelt is a cool lil bar but, the decor is horrible and the ceilings are so high and the walls are so bare that when there's a grip of peeps in there you can't hear so everybody talks so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talking to each other so we decided to be the loudest of the bunch. We ended up clearing the WHOLE room out and had the whole area to ourselves, then got scolded by the waitresses' for being too loud.Check out my awesome hat head hair.. so flat and stuck to my head. I really need to bleach it white, anybody want to do it for me?

Stopped at a few thriftstores Saturday and scored these lamps. I took a photo of the inside of the artsy one. I have to re-do the wiring. I love sleeping in super dark rooms but I hate working, cleaning or making things in dark rooms. I wonder what I should put in the bottom part of that yellow plastic lamp. I thought about a plant?

My old pal Pat had a layover in Phx yesterday on his way back to NYC so we got together. Our old roomie Dan and his adorable daughter Coen stopped by as well. Pat and I were inseparable for a few years, it was really good to see him. I weigh 10lbs more and he hasn't changed one bit. He had the coolest old BMW Motorbike back in the day...

One of my Faves by Rites of Spring

"I—I believed—memory might mirror no reflections on me,

I—I believed—that in forgetting I might set myself free.

But I woke up this morning with a piece of past caught in my throat…
And then I choked.

I bled—I tried to hide the heart from the head.
And I—I said I bled—In the arms of a girl I'd barely met.

And I woke up this morning with the present in splinters on the ground—
And then I drowned.

And if I can't see it’s for want of—you

You said, "I see"
If there's nothing here then it’s probably mine
My—My turn to see—if there's nothing here it will always be mine, mine

But I woke up this morning with a piece of past caught in my throat—
And then I choked.

I—I guess I've learned the taste of days that will always burn.
I—I guess I've learned if it’s in the corner of my eye I can't always turn.

And I woke up this morning with the present in splinters on the ground—and then I drowned.

And if I can't see it’s for want of—you

You."

Last Night.

My head is killing me. Our friends Max and Chris had us over for our 1st MCDC dinner exchange program. Chris made Enchilada Lasagna (or Enchilada Surprise) and Cheesecake. I made Blueberry/Cherry Cobbler. Dana brought the Wine and now I'm paying for it. Good times tho. Chris is a tattoo artist and now I know who will be doing my jackrabbit tattoo. Max's new hot dog/hamburger tattoo was pretty rad

Glimpse into my Weekend

Jazmine had a lil dinner party this past weekend so I boarded a plane and headed out to Venice Beach. The airport was DEAD both ways-Thank GOD I hate waiting in lines. Jazmine made her apple curry carrot soup and we both made some bruschetta and guacamole (I put waaaaaaaaaay too much garlic tho--I'm still sweating out the garlic smell 3 days later). 90% of the people there were yoga instructors from the Santa Monica/Venice area and a few of their kids. My friend Allison lives right around the corner from Jazmine and so she joined us for the fun as well. Like I was saying I need to start doing yoga. Now i'm home and sick and my eye is swollen and dripping like a faucet WTH!!!!

Usually it's me passed out on the couch, this time it was Jaz's lil one. Mateo knows how to use a Mac better than I do and he just turned 4!!

I had just cut the sleeves off of this vintage dress the day before. It had full lace sleeves and I thought it was just a bit too much.
