Off with her head!

I scored this vintage dress at the thriftstore in Tempe a few years ago. I hardly wear it b-cuz when you wash it, it then needs to be ironed and I slack when it comes to ironing. I am guessing it's from the 60's? You have to slip it on over your head and there's a 15" opening in the middle of the back that has a zipper so you can get it on. I just love the buttons that go all the way down the front and the color and it's just very unique. I think the person before me must have been shorter tho-due to the way it fits in the hip area, or maybe they just HAD hips. The old tag says Nali-Bee. I'm trying to wear clothes that just sit in my closet or the 4 bins under my bed.

Collar tucked in... and thanks to Blog Full of Jelly it's a 50's dress, not 60's-damn, she's good!

o i love it!! i'd have to see a pic of the label to know for sure but i think it is mid-50s, and i wonder if that top pointy part shouldn't be turned inside as the interfacing/reinforcement of the neckline? it looks cool this way tho. and just get over it and iron already!
actually i just bought an iron 2 weeks ago (for sewing) after years without and have been thrilled to finally iron everything i own. it's like a whole new wardrobe :D

I knew you'd appreciate it ;o) You have good taste. I took a pic of the tag and put it on the posting. I couldn't figure out the neck thingy either, It appears to go outside but i'm going to go to the ladies room now and see if it looks of flipped in also! Thanks for the tips! As for ironing, when I do iron, I iron nearly every single piece that's been waiting for it HA! it's a weird OCD thing.

dude: http://www.rubylane.com/shops/vintagemerchant/item/DR-075

so the collar just depends on where the tag is - if it's visible w the collar flipped out that is right

Thank you for the compliments! I was watching this movie about the guy that looked after Nelson Mandela in prison and his wife in the movie had a similar dress on
