I'm going to make a pair of these with white lace for the 2nd Annual White Party and wear it with my vintage white lace dress. It's similar to the one Kate Moss did for Topshop (below) I'll post a pic of it soon. The website will be http://www.partyblanc.com/ I'll re-post it again when they get it up and running.
Pic above taken by Janet No, I am not wearing a Turban.. just a headband/wrap.
Maggiano's for lunch and 4 yummy Bundt cakes at work ;o)!
Lots and lots of flowers. YAY!
The AWESOME Vintage Boots Dana, Ania and Sonia got me-they are like the boots AnoukLepore wore with that pretty floral dress. I can't seem to find the pic of her in them on google now tho?

Dallas. Birthday Weekend. Friday I went to First Friday with Meg, Janet, Dallas and Vargas. We only went to a few gallery's and then hit up a few bars. Saturday I laid around most of the day nursing a headache and I didn't even go out to dinner with my folks/sister etc. Saturday night we went to see our friends band play at the Lost Leaf. I will say this, I will never go see a band there again-the sound system is HORRIBLE. It actually brought my headache back! We went to a few other bars after that. Sunday my awesome friends surprised me with a surprise b-day party!!!! My sister, Mom, Dad and nephew were there also. I had to take my nephew hiking in the middle of the 90 degree day bcuz I had promised him I would-bit of a sunburn to prove it. There was SO much delicious food and a cooler full of blue moon, etc. I have some really great friends. Thanks guys! Dana decorated the house this morning also ;o). I came to work and I have flowers and a stuffed bunny to add to all the flowers at home. That was so nice of everybody I really appreciate it. I am getting old tho and feel it with this darn headache that wont go away. OH and Amanda gave me two tickets to the Leonard Cohen so Janet and I went last night. I never really knew too much about him or his music. He played for 3 hours and did like 4 or 5 encores. Pretty good for an older man. I must work now-i'm slacking.
My friend Ian Arizona made this for me in 2003 for a bday gift.
So I just walked into the press room at work and one of the guys back there asked me "Have you gained weight because your ass looks bigger, but it looks good and you look better" HA HA HA WTF? I told him "No, I've actually lost 2 lbs I weigh 119 (I'm 5'6) and don't EVER ask a girl that question again" It might just be the new jeans I've been wearing to work? My boss' wife gave me a bunch of True Religion jeans and they make the booty look bigger/better than most jeans. I hope that's it.
Top outfits from Urban Outfitters. Bottom pieces from Etsy.com here a fellow blogger posted about them but I forget which one now. DUH
I'd wear this shirt above if I didn't have a gut and wasn't almost 40.
I actually purchased the scarf above for $18. Damn desert heat.
It's finally FRIDAY! Woo WOO! Last night my Sister, Mom and ME all fell asleep on the couch for the ending of the final E.R. I guess it runs in the family? Tonight it's first Friday with the ladies and hopefully our roof doesn't blow off with the wind storm we are supposed to have. Tomorrow it's hiking with my nephew, dinner at Tesoro with my family and who knows what else. It's my final weekend of being 36. Damn I'm getting old faster than I thought!
One of my best friends cut her baby's hair for the first time in nearly 4 years!!! He's such a good boy and sat there patiently. He's so darn cute! I remember when I was a little girl my Mom used to cut my hair into a Pixie Style and I hated it so I'd wear hats to school. I didn't like it bcuz people kept thinking I was a boy. I guess it doesn't help that I act and sound like a boy sometimes.
I was reminded of this movie today while reading an survey. Such a sad movie, but great. "How Green was My Valley" is another SUPER good one. Check them out if you ever need any movie ideas.
I finally organized all my jeans. I moved my one IKEA bookshelf into my room and then put the jeans in the cubbies in an order that probably only makes sense to me. It's way easier than having to pull the plastic bin out from under my bed or in the waaaay back of my closet.
I found these vintage drapes at the thriftstore and I've been meaning to put them on Etsy or Ebay. I finally got around to taking a pic for the sale. Close up of the print below.
Nothing too exciting to post about as of late. My sister and nephew are on the plane right now from Chicago to visit for the weekend.
I'm closer to the golden dawn I can't believe the wagons gone It's history I'm living in a callous realm Where others seem to dig it Just too much reality I'm frightened by the total goal I'm drawing to the ragged hole And I ain't got the wagon anymore No, I ain't got the wagon anymore I'm the twisted name on uma's eyes I'm living proof of cindy's lies Of destiny I'm drawing between the light and dark Where others see their targets I can't see anything Should I leave the engine on To listen to that mountain song Sinking in the quicksand of my thoughts And I ain't got the wagon anymore Don't believe in yourself Don't deceive with belief The knowledge comes with death's release Oh, oh, oh, oh... Not too stable Hanging by a string Can't face the thoughts No wheels will bring I gotta go It's bad enough being at home Without a way to leave the damage Is gonna show If I don't explain What you oughta know You can tell me all about it At the next ball show I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thoughts And I ain't got the power anymore Don't believe in yourself Don't deceive with belief The knowledge comes with death's release Oh, oh, oh, oh... Don't believe in yourself Don't deceive with belief The knowledge comes with death's release Oh, oh, oh, oh... Don't believe in yourself Don't deceive with belief The knowledge comes with death's release Oh, oh, oh, oh...
