Luella

Pretty excited to FINALLY see photos of my grandma when she was young. My Dad recently went up to my Uncles property, which is where they all grew up in Hibbing, MN and brought back all these old photos. I have bag fulls now. I will slowly be organizing them into books.  My grandma was a tough lady, raised four boys in the middle of nowhere on her own.  The deer story goes like this - my grandpa was out hunting and killed a doe. Came home and Grandma said that the doe most likely had a fawn and said that it would die without it's mother and made my g-pa go out and find the fawn. They put a ribbon and a bell around it's neck and raised it.  Later on somebody shot it even tho it had the bow and bell. :o( His name was Rusty.

70's & 80's

 Dad.
Dad and Crazy Uncle Brian. I might have posted the ones above before? Taken in Northern Minnesota -Hibbing area to be exact. We used to go every year to see my Grandma. She lived in the middle of nowhere. A mile to the closest neighbors. There were so many woodticks and horse flies -HORRIBLE bugs.
Dad and Dwight and my Dad's crazy paint job truck. He always paints his cars super crazy.
My lil bro BJ and Shane closed to the deer and Paul in the jean jacket. I have no clue who that other kid in the back is. That's my Dad's old '51 Merc in the back.

Chicago and Suburbs

My lil bro Shane and his rad '57

Pizza mmmmmm

so dark.. me and my favorite painter Rachel. Ya know, I was actually going to wear my contact lenses this night but I am a nerd and neglected to read the HUGE red warning label on Haley's contact len's solution that said "DO NO PUT IN YOUR EYE" ... needless to say, I burned my left eyeball and ruined my contact lens.
 Yoli and David.
Inside Kuma's. I wasn't that impressed with Kuma's. It was cool and good but I don't think i'd wait the normal 1+ hour it usually is to eat there. I was impressed with the beers. I had a Banana Bread Beer!!

One of the best secret snapshops i've ever taken. I had the camera at my waist and was looking the other way. It's amazingly perfect-so happy!!!
 David and Captain Awesome.

My Brothers bad ass Falcon. I wish it was running-it only goes into 1st and 2nd gear so it was a no go. They are one of my all time fav's.
LOVE EAR ART shirt, thanks Gen!!!!

Never enough time to accomplish all I want to in the City. Next time i'm taking the red eye out Friday and coming back on a Tuesday. I had a nice time and it was good to see my family, David, Yoli, Haley and Rachel ;o)
and a shitty sounding video I made at the Archers of Loaf show Saturday. Look how steady it is-damn-i'm usually all fidgety. I don't know why some of my pics are in black boxes, forgive blogger for that.

Oldies.

This is my Dad's, Dad. He worked on the trains in Hibbing, MN area. That was their pet fawn Rusty. My Dad said that they raised it till it was an adult and tied a bell and a ribbon around it's neck so hunters wouldn't shoot it. Somebody shot it anyway. Sad.. He says he thinks it was the LaMear's (sp?) A family that never liked their family. There's even drama up in the woods in the middle of nowhere HA!

My Godfather Bruce's bug in MN.

Dwight, My lil bro BJ, Me and my Dad. You could say I grew up eating A LOT of venison.

My Parents.

My crazy Uncle Brian, Me in the blue panties, My Dad and Sister Cheryl. Looks like they were partying?

One of the only pics of my Dad as a baby. They were dirt poor living in the middle of nowhere in Hibbing, MN.

The back of this pic says "Me 1966, Morsman Clinic 3 am"

Dwight and my Dad.
There..that's my Fathers Day post. My Dad's on his way back to IL from Kentucky after picking up an old Falcon so I don't get to hangout with him.

Memory Lane.

My Dad's old '51 Merc, correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's a Merc. He was always building cool old cars when we were kids (but in my opinion he always put the WORST paint jobs on them).

That's me on the roof. I was about 13 years old. I helped my Dad and his buddy rebuild this old cabin in the woods in MN.

My Uncle looks like Paul Bunyan in this photo. So Tall. My Uncle Brian is 6'6!! I wish the tall gene would have passed down to me.

His old Honda 3 wheeler riding thru the swamp or marsh.

Lot's and lot's of dead deers. My Dad was an avid hunter when we were kids. He'd go hunting near his childhood home in Northern Minnesota every year. He was raised mainly in Hibbing, MN (Stingy Lake area?) We'd go every year to visit my Grandma who raised 4 boys in the middle of freaking NOWHERE!! My main memory is of the baby cows she let my brother and I name, the pony, chickens, the outhouse, brown eggs that freaked me out, wheat germ, making homemade jam, horse fly's and the gnarly wood ticks.

My Dad is on the right with his bike.

L to R- My Dad, Uncle Jon, Some dude named Ed and my Grandma. I remember being up there one year and my Dad pulled up to my Grandmas trailer and in the back of the mini van was a deer that had been hit by a car and it was STILL alive but badly injured. My Grandma came out with the shotgun and shot it dead. If there was ever a deer in the road when we were in the car he'd SPEED UP and try to hit it.. crazy. I still don't know if he was serious doing that or not.

My Dad above and looking like Borat below.

"Very nice, you like?" I spared you the bloody deers hanging from the garage ceiling and the pics of deers on the top of the old station wagons. My Dad is now just a cranky old man 90% of the time.
